About

I’ve been a teacher of English as a Foreign Language for about twenty years and have taught in Greece, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan. About 2012, I started writing graded readers (for learners of English) with my friend, Walter McGregor. Together, we have written around ten, including a trilogy published by Helbling – featuring a British spy called Morrow – whose titles are The Right Thing, A Single Shot, and An Eye for an Eye. In addition to these, we have also written some historical ones – about Pompeii and Tutankhamun – for Oxford University Press.

The Jade Dragonball is the first in a series of books that David Ross and I have written. These high-adventure novels feature diverse characters and bring readers a taste of the culture, art, and history of the Silk Road, a major trading route and source of ideas since antiquity.
